NIBPAF Banquet & Inspire Award

To Anyone Reading This,

Our end of the year high school banquet was amazing!! To see every athlete who was mentioned be honored with reconizition was heartwarming. The awards, the speeches, the company, the dinner,... everything was perfect!!

A huge thank you to everyone who was involved in the decision to present my son Dylan Legoo with the Inspire Award. I can't begin to express how much that means to our family. We began our bowling journey with it used as an activity for our family to bond with Dylan and each other. It's absolutely amazing to see where it's lead to from where it started.

Thank you for the Brunswick Ball Certificate as well as his trophy. We are all extremely grateful.

Eisenhower Bowling News!!

To Everyone - Additional Practices

I inquired about additional practice days at Park Lanes but unfortunately there are not any extra time slots available. I'm going to talk to Don Carter's and see if we can possibly get an extra optional day of practice on Wednesdays or Thursdays. If approved, there will not be bus transportation provided.

To Everyone - Busses

Unfortunately, our bus arrival time is between 4:15pm & 4:50pm. This is due to the lack of available drivers for after school activities and is beyond our control. We ask that everyone is patient as we wait for the bus to arrive both at the school, and at the alley.

To Everyone - Schedules

The latest schedule and other valuable information can be found on the Eisenhower Dashboard

To Parents - Go Bowling

Because of the limited number of days I get working with the students, please feel free to visit Park Lanes or one of the other local alley's (RESOURCES tab => Bowling Alleys) and spend some time with your kids on the lane. The amount of fulfillment our family has received from this sport is immeasurable. It's a great place to bond, eat together, and work on some basics.

To Parents - Be on Time

Please be on time picking up students from practices and matches. Our practices are over at 6pm. Coaches can not leave until all students are picked up and because the alley has leagues which begin immediately after we complete our practices, they would like us to exit as quickly as possible.

To Parents - 8to18!!

I have a number of students who are not registered on 8to18 or do not have their physicals turned in. Please complete this as soon as possible!! 8to18 takes minutes to complete registration and is required. Physicals can be done at any immediate care facility or through their primary physician. We had lane shortages on our first practice because of these steps not being taken care of prior to the program beginning.

Thank you to everyone, we're looking forward to a great season!!

Eisenhower Practice Recap (Day 1)

Eisenhower Bowlers,

Our first day of practice was a success!! I hope everyone had a great time (I did) and is looking forward for Friday's practice!!

A Few Things

(1) Make sure you wait for the ball to complete it's return after a throw before grabbing it. No matter how old you are, you can mis-judge it's movement and end up with a pinched fingertip.

(2) Make sure you wait for the players next to you to complete their throws before beginning your turn. Lane courtesy is an important part of this sport.

(3) Make sure you wait for your turn on the carpet area. Only those who are up to bowl should be on the approach.

January 2025

Welcome Eisenhower Bowlers!!

To My Student Athletes,

I just wanted to take a moment to share how incredibly excited I am as we kick off our middle school bowling season! It feels like just yesterday we were wrapping up last season, and now we're back with new challenges, new goals, and a fresh opportunity to show what we've got!

Bowling is not just about the strikes and spares; it's about teamwork, sportsmanship, and building lasting friendships. I can’t wait to see all of our hard work and practice pay off as we compete against other schools. Each frame we roll together is a chance to grow, learn, and cheer each other on.

Let’s bring our energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to every practice and every game. Remember, whether you’re a seasoned bowler or just starting out, every one of you plays a crucial role on this team, and I’m so proud to have you all on board.

Get ready for an amazing season filled with fun, growth, and plenty of strikes! Let's make some unforgettable memories together!

Dylans Legoo's Run at Sectionals

Dylan Legoo finished with a 1250 series (208 avg.) with a high game of 258. Even though those are some great numbers, it unfortunately wasn't enough to move onto state. He gave it his all and we're all so very proud of him for making it as far as he did, as well as being an asset to the Guilford Bowling team for the past 4 years.

A Look Back at our Season

We made a Valiant effort at the IHSA Regionals competition and finished in 9th place. While we may not have secured a top position, the journey to this moment was filled with hard work, determination, and invaluable lessons that will stay with us long after the last pin fell. Every strike celebrated was a moment of joy, while every error served as a reminder of the areas we could improve. There were games where we soared high and others where we struggled to find our rhythm. Yet, that’s the essence of bowling, overcoming obstacles and learning from them.

Finishing in 9th place may not seem like a triumph at first glance, but for us, it was a stepping stone. It reflected the progress we have made as a team over the season. We came together, building a camaraderie that transcended the lanes. Each member contributed unique strengths, and collectively, we formed a unit driven by common goals. Bowling is as much a mental game as it is physical. The pressure of competition can be overwhelming, and maintaining focus amidst distractions is crucial. Everyone supported each other, cheering on our teammates and offering encouraging words during difficult frames. This bond not only strengthened our performance but also created memories that will last a lifetime.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone next year!!

Congrats to Dylan Legoo!!

Dylan Legoo made it through to Sectionals as an individual with a 1280 Series (213 avg.)!!

For those who do not know, Dylan is my son and he has autism. As a parent who witnesses the many struggles he goes through on a daily basis, to see him accomplish this is overwhelming. When his name was announced, the alley erupted with cheering and clapping. Tears of happiness flowed from many in the audience who have watched Dylan grow up along side them in the alley. It was a very rewarding experience for everyone and for me as a coach/dad, it was extremely special.

Sectionals will be held at Plum Hollow Family Center at 8am on January 25th, 2025
